Felt Coaster perfect for Easter

We found quite a bit of left over felt fabric from other projects / craft  we did previously and we thought since so many people are posting Easter projects we might as well make one from all our left over felt fabrics. The craft needed to be small. The felt fabrics are just small cuts.

Check out how we made. These came out so adorable.

I-Stand Mobile Phone Holder

You are going to love this project. Everyone is so wired to their phone now a days that so many different gadgets and phone accessories are out in the market.

Well at OJC we use a lot of facetime or video calls and we seem to be always looking for a phone stand to keep our phones upright while multi-tasking. Yes we are guilting of multi-tasking from time to time.

All you need is an empty bottle of baby powder (this one is a Johnson & Johnson's baby powder), washi tape and a good knife blade.

"Because LOVE wounds and inflames the HEART."

Cupid in Latin Cupido means "desire". He is also known in Latin as Amore means "love". His iconography acquired the bow and arrow that represent his source of power. Who is shot by Cupid's arrow is filled with uncontrollable desire. 

So who does not want that especially from someone we really like. We have our own Love Arrows to share and we won't be shooting them but giving them away and hopefully the myth and magic to desire and love HAPPENS!

Here we are making Love Arrow. Left over craft papers and sticks we had in stock. If you guys followed our wreath project last December you wold recognize the twine we used here.

After we had so much fun doing that wood burn project on the kitchen wooden utensil we had to take out our burn tool again and do it's magic over these popsicle sticks.

Time to assemble all these and make some Love Arrows!

Here we are finally shooting Love Arrows.

Oops...we are not done yet. We need a bag for these arrows just like how cupid slings it around his body.

We have got that perfect Love Arrows to share.

This project left us LOVE STRUCK as well.

Wreath Inspiration

Something rustic. Something handmade. Something simple. Nothing new. Purely recycled.

There is just something with a WREATH hanging at the entrance of the door that just makes each home so welcoming.

A simple circular basket  ("bilao" as we call in Filipino) wrapped with random twine to fill inside the ring. The wooden "bilao" ring is then wrapped in Christmas garland (which we have used over and over every Christmas).

Decorated with simple denim ribbons and a hand-made cut out of "Ho! ho! ho!" painted in gold.

Starbucks bottle recycled!

Who does not love to grab a cup of coffee before heading to work?! We enjoy a swing by Starbucks from time to time. So with the number of trips in a year,

we gathered quite a bit of Starbucks bottles and thought how this iconic shaped bottle can be recycled into something we can use day to day.

After several trials and explored different ideas. This finally became our favorite -a hand soap dispenser. We got our Martha Stewart stencil and Gold Glass paint to give this bottle a very nice handmade look. Since it took 24 hours to cure the paint we worked on attaching the pump to the cap while waiting.

Using a heavy duty cutter we cut the metal cap out just big enough to fit this recycled pump from an empty hand soap plastic bottle. Sanding down the metal edges will also help to smoothen out the sharp metal.

We poured in a hand soap that was clear in color to show off the beauty of the bottle and the stencil design.

Time to Organize

The next time you finish up your toilet paper roll maybe you just might want to save those inner paper tubes and turn them to this really hip make-up organizer. Oh! the big tube in the photo, we couldn't remember where it came from :) it just so happened it match the other tubes!

We cut the tubes in different heights to give our organizer some character. The big tube came sealed at the bottom so we just had to seal off the small tubes with paper board and glue them down. Got our spray can black paint and as usual went trigger happy with the spray paint. We brought out our collection of card stocks and chose the ones that matches with each other. We did also try to find design that would match with our furniture. We chose a more of the contemporary patterns and went for neutral colors for this project. 

Now we wouldn't want to look down in to these tubes and remind us that these are empty tubes of toilet paper rolls right? :)  We cut out some black felt fabric and covered each inner tube.

Arrange your tubes the way you would like it. This is all free form. We recommend as a design tip is to always keep the tallest element on the center. You can go circular or straight line. Ones you are happy with how it looks glue them together!

Make-up - ORGANIZED. Yehey! we have space to buy more make-up! 

Now that is our simple weekend make-over! Have fun organizing.

Phone Charger Holder

Ever find yourself charging your phone on a wall outlet and leaving the phone on the floor? 

Before you throw away that empty shampoo or bodywash bottle take a look at what we did.

We use an empty Johnson Baby Wash bottle and our Oh Joy wash tape roll that is 8" thick.

You will also need a knife blade and a marker.

Follow how we trace out how to cut the empty bottle.

Ones you have trace out the shape where to cut, find a flat and secure surface like a cutting mat so that the bottle does not slip as you cut through the plastic bottle. 

Make sure to use a new blade to make it easy to cut through.

 Here is how it should look like ones you have cut it out.

 One more last cut to do. Measure the width or height of your charger plug and make sure to cut the hole to fit the charge. This hold will be hanging or holding on to that as you use this.

Here it is!

Now the fun part! Pull out or roll out the wash tape and measure out just enough to cover the whole plastic case. You can use a 2" or 4" thick washie tape as well but we wanted to keep that one piece pattern look so we opted for the 8" washie tape.
