How-to-Craft Paper Bags

We thought why not spruce up a simple craft and make it FUN and USEFUL! We have been paper crafting a lot and enjoying our craft paper cutters. If you do find some nice ones in the National Book Store or if you happen to swing by divisoria mall, you may just simple pick one up and put it to good use. Here is how we did our Paper Bags.

Lets start with the materials:
8.4" x 11" craft paper or any colored paper that is thicker than a copy paper
Scissors
Glue stick
Paper Bag Template print out ( you can download by clicking here)
Decorative paper puncher of your choice
Paper ornaments to decorate the bag
Scoring bone or use any empty pen
Ruler

Step 1: Download the Paper bag template. (Click here to download). Cut out your crafting paper following the template. Score the lines which helps you locate where the folds will be done.

Step 2: Following the scored lines and fold the bag on the sides first then the bottom area.

Step 3: Seal the two ends of the paper bag using your glue stick. There will be a small tab that you will fold in to put the two ends together. Do the same at the bottom of the bag.
Step 4: Here is how our paper bag should look like ones you have sealed together the two side edges and the bottom area.

Now the fun part! We get to decorate and customize our paper bag for the occasion. We love our paper punchers so we had to just put it to good use. We punched the top edge of the paper (where the opening of the bag is) with a decorative floral design paper puncher. You can make use of any puncher of our choice.

Step 5: Make sure to position your front part of the bag to the center of the cutter. Punch away!

Step 6: Do exactly the same on the top edge of the other side of the paper bag. Measure and place a mark it to ensure you are centered!
See below image on how the puncher beautifully cut the top edge of the paper bag.

Step 7: Take your chosen ornaments and decorate your paper bag. We ended up doing our own decorative elements to match our simple and elegant paper bags.
