Very few things can transform our rooms into a cozy place. A handcrafted luminaire can bring charm and warmth to any home. Learn to build this bright idea by following the easy crafting steps below.
Materials we used for this hand crafted candle light shades.
1. 4 pcs of 4.5" x 9" wax paper
2. Any paper cut out of your choice - you can use mulit-colored paper and punch circles to turn in to a polka dot or confetti. For this craft we use cut out doves from our shop.
3. Tape
4. Glitter tape or any decorative tape of your choice - check out Oh Joy & Co shop for other variety of tapes
5. Iron and ironing board
6. Battery operated tea lights
Step 1: Fold all the four wax papers in half, crosswise.
Step 2: Arrange the dove cut out in between the folded wax paper.
Step 3: Iron the folded wax paper to hold the cut outs in place. By applying heat this will make the wax paper stick / seal together.
Step 4: After ironing all four wax paper it is time to assemble each panel together to create the shade.
Using a transparent tape position each panel side by side to form a cube with an open top and bottom.
Cut out each glitter tape to 4.5" length to decorate the corners where each panel meets.
Step 5: Trim out any glitter tape that protrudes out of the edges.
Here is your hand crafted candle light luminaire. Make sure to use battery operated tea candles when using this luminaire indoors.
