Got to Love this Bug!

If you ever pass by the baby section of the department store or any baby store, you might just bump into this cute red bug pod. This is a bath toy and bath accessories organizer for toddlers. But instead of using it as a bath or toy organizer we used it for our mini garden by the balcony.
And yes! we are going to grow some lettuce!
Since our creative juices are always working we could not just plant these on regular pots! Right?! So we planted them in to this Bug Pod! We are pretty sure that after you have seen these pictures of the bug pod you will find your own creative inspiration on how to make use of this!

Here's how we were able to place the potting soil in to the scooper.
Just take some coconut liners and line them on the sides of the scooper (the red area of the bug pod). Inside or in between the liners we filled it up with potting soil. We took the lettuce sprouts (with the soil intact with the roots) and one by one plugged them in to each hole.
The bug pod will become a bit heavy as you fill it up with potting soil so you may not be able to hang it. We just kept ours on the ground and it looks both as a decorative garden ornament at the same time as a pot! All we need to do now is water this everyday and give it some sunlight.
Don't you just think this bug really needs to be in the garden and not in the bathroom?! :)

Definitely a crowd pleaser Easter Salad

A fresh and light salad serve on a beautiful Easter Sunday brunch. Who can not be more pleased!
We found this Easter buffet setting such a crowd pleaser! Yes #ohjoyandco took time off making these. And Easter is about egg hunting so we made this Easter Egg Salad.

Serving a refreshing and healthy salad is absolutely perfect! Here is how we did it...

Fill the jar with the ingredients starting with dressing which is basically 2 tbsps of mayonnaise. Continue to fill the jar with julienne carrot, red onions and sliced cucumber. Add in the cooked pasta, sliced red tomatoes. Place the hard boiled egg that is cut to half  facing the side of the jar to give it a nice presentation. To help hold the boiled egg in place add in the grated cheese. Fill the salad with fresh bite size lettuce (taring the lettuce up is the best to prevent the lettuce from browning on the edges).

Cover the mason jar - seal tight. To decorate the mason jar we cut out some rabbit ears using felt fabric. Click the link here to download the rabbit ears template.

To serve open each mason jar and pour contents on to a bowl. The next step is just dig in! Make sure to take a big bite when you find that egg!
