One of the team brought this wooden box and ask everyone to see how we can recycle this wooden box. For some wood lovers and craftsman this would be awesome to bring to life since it is a relatively nice piece of wood.
But with a group of young urban creatives a simple sanding down and polyurethane is just way too easy and "traditional".
Here is what we ended up doing. We used a Martha Stewart Wood Stain - JalapeƱo color and turned the color of this box pop! It is a vintage RED look!
After all the paint has dried we picked out a nice stencil and use a white metallic paint to place the design on the wooden box cover.
To be able to keep the things in place inside the wooden box (we don't want our nice pens or jewelry all scratch up inside) we cut out and glued a piece of black felt fabric (cut to size) to line the inside of the box. And we are just lovin' this wooden box. Definitely a box like no other.
