Picture Perfect

Take your photos out from your news feed and put it inside a frame. Print your favorite photo of your family, a vacation, friends... Frames and photos are wonderful things to remind us of the special things around us, so why not make and hang one in your own home?

Here’s a surprise. This craft isn’t as tough as it looks! We also have ready-to-print templates to make crafting faster. Here are the supplies that you will need:

Our free template - which can be downloaded as you read along the post
Illustration board/Corrugated box/Chip board
Patterned/Cardstock paper - To wrap the frame later.
Decorations - We’re using pleated paper, diecut borders, and flower embellishments
Glue/Glue gun - Depending on the material of your board.
Scissors/Cutter
Acetate/Transparent film - This is optional, but also highly recommended

Note: The frame’s size is suitable for 4R (4”x6”) photos.

Begin by printing our templates ( back | middle | front ). Trace the first template on an illustration board, used corrugated box, or a thick board, and cut. The template has three pages in it, so you should come up with three boards: The back, middle, and front of the frame.

Now trace or print the ( second template ) on a card stock paper and follow the guide for cutting and folding.

Apply glue on the board and stick the cardstock paper onto it. Make sure you do not stick the part that has been cut, because you’re supposed to fold it in later.

Fold the flaps inwards and use glue or tape to stick the flaps behind the frame. At this moment, you can start decorating your frame to avoid getting the other boards dirty.

Decorate your frame with what you have available. We’re using diecut borders (from our Safari Set), pleated construction paper, and flower embellishments. Wait for the glue to dry to make sure the decorations are attached on the frame very well.

Using glue stick or glue gun (depending on the material of the board you are using), stick the boards together: Back, middle, and then front in order.

Always remember to get creative and play around with your decorations. Here’s how we played around with ours.

Optional step: you can also add an acetate/transparent film to protect your photos from getting in contact with dirt.
